About our company
Ray Products was incorporated in 1966 by John Joseph Ray, who had over 35 years of experience in the paper box industry. While supplying Hallmark Cards, Inc. of Kansas City with boxes from a plant he managed in Arkansas, Mr. Ray was encouraged to move closer to Kansas City in order to better serve their needs.
He moved to Parsons and established the only set-up paper box plant in Kansas. The company started out with two box manufacturing lines, 11 employees, and a lot of heart. Today, the company has grown to a facility measuring over 55,000 square feet with 11 set-up paper box lines in production.
Products
We are a designer/manufacturer of custom set-up or rigid paper boxes: tightwrap, loosewrap, clear vinyl boxes, shoulder boxes, slipcases, book boxes, boxes with hinged lids, platforms, and die-cut inserts. Items produced include candy/chocolate boxes, gift boxes, game boxes, cosmetic boxes, and CD/DVD boxes.
We also manufacture folding cartons, turned-edge binders, game boards, and perform custom laminating work. Finishing processes include high end litho printing, embossing, foil stamping, UV, aqueous, and film laminate coatings.
We handle product fulfillment needs as well.
Capabilities
In order to better serve the packaging industry we have a number of machines with which to produce your product. The variety of machines at our disposal enables us to produce your product as efficiently as possible. Whether you require a few hundred or a few hundred thousand boxes, we can meet your needs.
- Eleven set-up box manufacturing lines, of which two are equipped to manufacture the popular loosewrap style of box.
- Six die-cutters, ranging in format size from 13 × 17-3/4 to 36-1/4 x 49-1/2.
- Two foil stamping/embossing presses for finishing work.
- Folding and gluing capabilities which include straight-line, auto-bottom, four-corner, six-corner carton styles, as well as inner partition work.
- Clear Box manufacturing capability.
- C & S Flatboard laminator for sheet to sheet lamination.

PRODUCT DESIGN
Our staff is equipped with years of product design experience as it relates to rigid boxes and folding cartons. This is evidenced by many of the unique designs that you can see on our product pages (click here). In addition, we have at our disposal the most advanced CAD software for packaging design-ARTIOSCAD-which is capable of producing three dimensional renderings for your review. The addition of a Data Technology sample table in recent years has also enhanced our ability to turn samples for you on a moment’s notice.
PRODUCT FULFILLMENT
Ray Products has offered product fulfillment services for many years. After all, why go to the effort and expense of shipping your boxes to a fulfillment house, when we can do it here, potentially saving you thousands of dollars in shipping costs.
Whether it be a game, books, digital media, promotional products, or just about anything other than food products, we are equipped to handle your fulfillment needs with our semi-automatic shrink packaging line. Ray Products added an additional 7,500 square feet of warehouse space in 2010 bringing the total available warehouse space to 22,500 square feet.
